OUTCOME OF THE SECURITY MEASURES DURING MARCH 2024

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
The outcome of the security measures taken by army units during March 2024: arrest of 385 individuals of different nationalities for their involvement in various crimes and misdemeanors, including drug trafficking, theft, smuggling, possession of weapons and contraband, roaming inside Lebanese territory without legal residency, and driving cars and motorcycles without legal papers. The seized items included 42 firearms of various types, 9 grenades, quantities of light and medium munitions, a number of vehicles and motorcycles, in addition to an amount of drugs, and a number of communication devices and cameras.
Attempts by approximately 400 Syrians to illegally infiltrate across the land borders were also thwarted. The arrestees, along with the seized items, were handed over to the competent authorities for necessary measures.
