Visitors of General Kahwagi

Lebanese Armed Forces Commander General Jean Kahwagi received in his office in Yarzeh this morning the minister of foreign affairs Mr. Philip Hammond where they discussed the general situation in Lebanon and the region and the British aid program offered to the Lebanese Army, particularly in the equipment of some Army units with modern surveillance equipment for the protection of the Northern and Eastern borders from terrorist assaults and bilateral infiltration and smuggling actions. General Kahwagi extended his gratitude to the British authorities for the important aid presented to the Army, amounting to 19.8 million Pounds during 3 years. The minister of foreign affairs also expressed his major appreciation to the role of the LAF in confronting terrorism and preserving the unity and stability of Lebanon and confirmed the commitment of his country to continue offering the military support to his country.
Moreover, Minister Hammond headed with the director of operations Brigadier General Ziad Homsi to the Special Forces School – Hamat where they attended various combat exercises performed by an Army unit with the participation of a British training team.
