Ceremony for the handover of armored personnel carriers donated by the French authorities to the army

A ceremony was held at the Beirut Port of the handover of 39 armored personnel carriers (VAB), donated by the French authorities to the army. The ceremony was attended by the French Minister Delegate to the Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs, Ms. Alice Rufo, the Chief of Staff, Major General PSC Hassan Audi, representing the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief, General Rodolph Haykal, and the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro, along with several officers.

During the ceremony, Minister Rufo delivered a speech in which she emphasized the close relationship between the Lebanese and French armies and praised the role of the military institution in maintaining Lebanon’s internal stability amid the current exceptional phase. She also reaffirmed her country’s support for the army as a guarantor of Lebanon’s security.

Major General PSC Hassan Audi also delivered a speech on the occasion, stating: “We highly value France’s support for Lebanon and appreciate its valuable initiative to support the army, despite the rapid challenges facing the region, including Lebanon. This support reflects the depth of relations between the two countries, confirms France’s standing alongside Lebanon to preserve security and stability, and enhances the military institution’s capabilities to carry out its operational missions.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Major General PSC Hassan Audi presented a letter of thanks to Minister Rufo in appreciation of the role of the French authorities in supporting the army.
