Funeral of Martyr Soldier Hussein Ghazal
The Army Command and the residents of the Shoueifat area bid farewell to martyr soldier Hussein Ghazal, who was martyred on 6 June 2026 as a result of an Israeli airstrike targeting him on the Khardali–Kfartebnit road (Nabatieh).
In the presence of Acting Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Hassan Audi, the funeral procession began in front of the Central Military Hospital, where a detachment of the Military Police and the Army Band rendered the appropriate honors and ceremonial tribute. The martyr was posthumously awarded the War Medal, the Wounded Medal, and the Bronze Military Appreciation Medal.
The body was then transferred to Al Sadiq Cemetery in Shoueifat, where the funeral service was held in the presence of the representative of the Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, and Acting Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Hassan Audi, who delivered a speech stating: “Our feelings are a mixture of pride and sorrow as we gather to bid farewell to our comrade-in-arms, martyr soldier Hussein Ghazal, who embodied throughout his life the values of patriotism, discipline, and loyalty to the Army and Lebanon, and who embodied in his martyrdom the ultimate sacrifice alongside those who preceded him among the righteous martyrs, after being struck by the hand of treacherous Israeli aggression that continues to target civilians and military personnel across various regions.”
