His Majesty King Abdullah II Meets General Haykal, Followed by a Meeting with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces: the Kingdom of Jordan Reaffirms Its Support for Lebanon and the Lebanese Army

The Lebanese Army Commander –in – chief General Rodolph Haykal visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on August 30 and 31, 2026, where His Majesty King Abdullah II met with him at Al Husseiniya Palace, in the presence of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces Major General Yousef Ahmed Al Huneiti, and a number of officials.

During the meeting, His Majesty the King reaffirmed Jordan’s support for Lebanon and its efforts to preserve its security and sovereignty.

His Majesty also expressed his full support for the international conference in support of the Lebanese Army, scheduled to be held in Paris on September 17, 2026, with the aim of enhancing the Army’s operational capabilities and its ability to assume its national responsibilities.

General Haykal also visited the General Command Headquarters of the Jordanian Armed Forces, where he was received by Major General Al Huneiti and accorded official honors. A meeting was subsequently held between them in the presence of a number of officers. Discussions focused on the latest developments and ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the two armies, while emphasizing the importance of supporting the military institution in light of the challenges it faces.

General Haykal expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for its continued initiatives aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Lebanese Army in support of its national role.
