Visitors of the Lebanese Army Commander-in-Chief

The Army Commander–in-Chief General Rodolph Haykal received in his office in Yarzeh the Ambassador of the European Union in Lebanon Sandra De Waele, with a delegation from the European External Action Service (EEAS) headed by Mr. Gil Rostain, Head of the Strategic Planning Department for Crisis Management for the Middle East and North Africa. The discussion addressed developments and updates in Lebanon and the region, and ways to support the army.

During the meeting, Ambassador De Waele affirmed the continued support of the European Union for the military institution, and praised the pivotal role of the army in ensuring security and stability in Lebanon.

On the other hand, General Haykal appreciated the European Union’s stance alongside Lebanon and the army under the current circumstances.
